I've had a passion for dance my entire life. I first took ballroom lessons by myself when I was 40. That didn't last long because I had no one to dance with. When I was 50 I convinced my husband at the time to take lessons. We quickly became addicted and were dancing three times a week and even did some showcases. Fast forward to the next decade and at 60 I became a certified professional ballroom instructor with Arthur Murray. I taught under a great mentor with a studio in Raleigh, NC for a couple years. My specialty is working with baby boomers, people with two left feet and wedding couples.
Here's the thing about taking lessons with me. Although the dance is based on traditional ballroom my approach is threefold. I am a Certified Personal Trainer, a Certified Life Coach and a Ballroom Instructor, yes I'm a triple threat :) I blend the mind and body together to teach you not just to dance. I help you learn or remember how to have FUN!

The other component is being able to dance anywhere with any music. Ballroom is a great foundation to use anywhere. I strongly believe our bodies are made to keep moving and our minds are meant to keep expanding. That's how you get to experience life to its fullest!

Meet Jeremy Bennett, the Swing King of Real World Ballroom. Hailing from the quaint streets of Thomasville, NC, he's been strutting his stuff in the social dance scene since 2013.
When he's not Lindy Hopping across the dance floor, you can catch him tickling the ivories on the piano or scouting out the next dance hotspot to unleash his moves. Although swing and Lindy Hop are his jam, he's not one to shy away from a bit of Balboa or Charleston action either.
Whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete newbie, Jeremy will make sure your dance journey is as smooth as a perfectly executed kick step!

Doug dance journey started as a quest to impress at an upcoming wedding, but he ended up getting tangled in the world of dance as an instructor at Fred Astaire for five fabulous years.
In a plot twist, Doug faced a setback with a broken ankle but spun it into an opportunity. Taking on dance again as rehab, he waltzed to Real World Ballroom, proving that no broken ankle could keep him from grooving.
Doug isn't just an instructor; he's the architect of dance success stories. He consistently graced the top spots in both regional and national competitions, and his students have mastered the art of dance at every ability level.

Betsy’s love for dance began at age ten and only intensified throughout high school until she caught the bug to become a professional dancer. Her first job was dancing and singing in a musical, magic show at Magic Harbor in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She studied ballet and modern at UNC-Greensboro while dancing in the live shows at Carowinds during the summer months. Her work at Carowinds led Betsy to perform for the USO, touring Germany and Iceland with an eight person troupe called ‘The Kings Eight’.
Soon Betsy was on her way to New York City where she took class with studios such as Broadway Dance Center, Steps and Dance Space. She auditioned for several shows including A Chorus Line but decided to leave the world of professional dance for a different creative career as a graphic designer.
She continued to take class while studying design in NYC. When she moved back to Winston-Salem in 2004, she began teaching dance at the studio where she began her training.
Betsy is happiest when she is dancing and loves to teach the kind of class that she herself enjoys taking. She’s obsessed with all things musical theater, especially any choreography by Bob Fosse.
Dance is a celebration of life and Betsy hopes you will join her in the celebration!
